I qualified in 1976 with a BSc in Physiology from Manchester University and a BDS in Dentistry in 1979. I am married with 2 adult children.
I have been in general practice at a small wholly independent private practice in Didsbury since 1989 but prior to converting to private practice a ran and worked in group NHS practices for 28 years.
I am a great believer in the NHS as a concept but feel the health service has disappointed and failed both patients and the dental profession with the 2006 reforms to the system. I was secretary of the Manchester LDC for 11 years and now serve as a senior member of the LDC and will continue to offer my support and expertise to maintain the respect and position of our profession within the community we serve
